ABOUT THE FILM SERIES

The Hendricks Center, in collaboration with Black Student Fellowship and Hollywood Prayer Network, presents a film every week in February at DTS. These movies surface perspectives in African American history that highlight achievements, suffering, and faith in the midst of adversity to help create understanding of a culture unfamiliar to many. Each film reflects a different time period of African American history, up to the present day.

This film series brings to light the complex nature of and history surrounding the Black experience in America and highlights how, for many, their faith carried them through. We hope to develop understanding of perspectives that inform the African American experience.
